You bought a Sur-Ron Light Bee to go where other bikes can't. Then the sun went down — and that thin factory headlight turned every fast line into a leap of faith. Roots disappear. Whoops sneak up on you. The trail you flow through in daylight becomes a dim tunnel that quits exactly where you need it most: 40 feet out, at speed.
A Baja Designs Sur-Ron lighting kit fixes that in an afternoon. More usable light means more confidence, higher corner speed, later rides, and fewer "I never saw that" moments. This is the single upgrade that changes how — and when — you ride.
At Elektrisches Racing, Baja Designs isn't one brand on a shelf of fifty. It's what we specialize in. We ride Sur-Rons, we wire these kits, and we sell genuine Baja Designs products backed by the Baja Designs Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Why upgrade your Sur-Ron lighting?
Benefit first: a Baja Designs upgrade gives you daylight-quality vision at night, in dust, and in fog — so you ride more terrain, more often, with less fatigue and less risk. Here's what stock costs you:
- The factory headlight is built to a price, not to a trail. It throws a soft, short beam that washes out right where speed gets dangerous.
- One beam can't do every job. Tight single-track wants a wide flood; open fire roads want long-throw. Stock gives you a mediocre compromise.
- Cheap LEDs cook themselves. Output sags as they heat, color shifts, water gets in. Baja runs CopperDrive (LEDs driven at 100%) and MoistureBlock sealing built for dust and water.
- Eye fatigue is real. Baja's 5000K daylight color reads closer to natural light, so your eyes work less on long night sessions.
This is a safety and performance part — and with Baja's uService swappable lenses, you can change beam pattern later without buying a new light.
Real-world riding: where the right light earns its keep
Night trail riding. Threading tight trees, you want a wide, flat beam that lights the edges and the next corner — not a narrow laser. An S2 in Wide Cornering fills your peripheral vision and kills tunnel vision, so you hold more speed.
Open terrain and speed. Out in the wash at 35+ mph, light that quits at 40 feet means you're outriding your vision. Step up output and run Driving/Combo — an S2 Pro or a Squadron 2.0 pushes the beam far enough to match your pace.
Technical, low-speed trail. Rock gardens reward a broad, even pool of light at the wheel. A single S2 Sport (or the compact S1 in Trail pattern) is plenty, draws almost nothing, and keeps the build simple.
Commuting and dusk. Riding to the trailhead or home after dark, you want to be seen as much as to see. Add a prewired tail light and run an amber lens option for presence in low visibility.
Baja Designs Sur-Ron light comparison
All of these are genuine Baja Designs and all are prewired, plug-and-play for the Sur-Ron / E-Ride Pro connector — but they're not interchangeable. The right one depends on how much output you want versus how little power you want to draw. (Output is relative, per Baja Designs' published positioning; current pricing is available on each product page.)

Which Baja Designs light is best for your Sur-Ron?
Easiest no-fuss upgrade → S2 Sport. One compact, prewired light, almost no power draw, dramatically better than stock. Prefer the complete bracket-and-wiring kit? Get the S2 Sport Headlight Kit. See latest pricing on the product page.
Best all-around Sur-Ron headlight → S2 Pro (most popular). Roughly double the output of the Sport, still tiny, still low-draw, prewired to drop straight onto the Light Bee. Or the full S2 Pro Headlight Kit. Not sure? Get the S2 Pro.
Cleanest, most compact → S1 Kit. The smallest pod, offered in Baja's Trail pattern — ideal for tight cockpits and slow technical riding.
Maximum bolt-on output → Squadron 2.0 Pro. The brightest bolt-on pod we offer for fast, open terrain.
Still deciding? Read our S1 vs S2 vs Squadron breakdown and the S2 Sport vs S2 Pro comparison, or tell us your bike and where you ride — we'll spec the exact kit, free.
Sur-Ron Light Bee installation guide
Because our S2 and Squadron kits ship prewired for the Sur-Ron / E-Ride Pro, most riders are running in under an hour with basic hand tools.
- Plan your mount. The S2 mounts at the number-plate area, fork lowers, or a dedicated Sur-Ron bracket. Aim for just below and forward of your sightline.
- Choose your beam pattern. Wide Cornering for tight trail, Driving/Combo for mixed riding, Spot if pairing two lights. uService lets you swap later.
- Connect the power. The prewired harness plugs into the Light Bee with minimal fuss — no cutting your factory harness.
- Seal and secure. Dielectric grease on connectors, zip-tie the harness clear of fork travel and steering sweep.
- Aim it. Bike upright on level ground, point the hot spot where your front wheel will be at speed.
Fitment note: Sur-Ron mounting varies by model year and front plate. Tell us your exact bike and we'll confirm the bracket and harness before you order.
Frequently asked questions
Will Baja Designs lights fit my Sur-Ron Light Bee?
Yes. Our S1, S2 Sport, S2 Pro, and Squadron 2.0 kits are prewired for the Sur-Ron / E-Ride Pro and are the cleanest-fitting upgrades for the Light Bee. Send us your model year and we'll confirm exact fitment before you buy.
S2 Sport vs S2 Pro — which should I get?
The S2 Pro for most riders: roughly double the output of the Sport, still compact and low-draw, and our best-selling Sur-Ron headlight. Choose the Sport for the lowest draw and simplest install.
Are these genuine Baja Designs products?
Always. Elektrisches Racing sells authentic Baja Designs lighting, backed by the Baja Designs Limited Lifetime Warranty. No grey-market copies.
Will brighter lights drain my range?
Practically, no for the S2 kits — their draw is tiny relative to the propulsion system. The S2 Sport offers the best brightness-per-watt if range is your priority.
What beam pattern is best for night trail riding?
Wide Cornering for tight single-track (it lights the edges and the next corner), or Driving/Combo for mixed-speed riding. You can swap lenses later with Baja's uService system.
Do you offer installation help and fast shipping?
Yes — every order includes access to our install and wiring support, and we ship genuine Baja Designs kits fast from the USA. Financing is available via Shop Pay Installments and Affirm at checkout.
