The Sur-Ron Ultra Bee is the bigger, faster sibling to the Light Bee — more power, more suspension and more speed. That extra capability makes the stock headlight's limits even more obvious after dark. If you ride your Ultra Bee at dawn, dusk or night, a genuine Sur-Ron Ultra Bee headlight upgrade is the single best change you can make. This guide covers the right Baja Designs kit for the Ultra Bee, how the options compare, real fitment, and a 20-minute install.
Why upgrade the stock Ultra Bee headlight
The factory Ultra Bee light is built to make you visible, not to light the trail at the speeds this bike reaches. Output is low, the beam floods the front wheel rather than throwing usable distance, and the color temperature flattens terrain detail. On a bike as quick as the Ultra Bee, that means backing off at night because you can't read the ground — not because the bike can't do it.
Genuine Baja Designs optics fix all three problems: race-proven beam patterns, CopperDrive LEDs run at 100%, and 5000K daylight color that makes ruts, rocks and roots pop. You get the confidence to ride the Ultra Bee at its real pace after sunset.
The best Ultra Bee headlight upgrades, ranked
Every kit ships prewired and plug-and-play for the Sur-Ron platform, with the correct connector, harness, switch, bracket and hardware — no splicing.
- Best value — Baja Designs S2 Sport (Prewired): ~1,581 lumens, compact, driving/spot combo — our #1 seller.
- Best performance — Baja Designs S2 Pro (Prewired): ~2,245 lumens for faster night riding.
- Maximum output — Baja Designs XL80: a larger pod for the brightest, longest reach — a natural match for the Ultra Bee's speed.
Ultra Bee headlight kits compared
| Kit | Output | Beam | Best for | Install |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| S2 Sport | ~1,581 lm | Driving/spot combo | Best value; trail & commute | Prewired |
| S2 Pro | ~2,245 lm | Driving/spot combo | Faster trail & desert | Prewired |
| XL80 | Max output | Long reach + flood | High-speed night riding | Prewired |
Because the Ultra Bee is faster than the Light Bee, many riders step up to the S2 Pro for extra reach — but the S2 Sport is still the best-value pick and a huge upgrade. See the S2 Sport vs S2 Pro comparison and the Baja Designs Buyer's Guide.
Clear vs amber lens
Both S2 kits include a spare lens. Run clear (5000K) for daylight color and the best terrain recognition; switch to amber for dust, fog, rain and snow to cut glare and lift contrast. Swaps without tools.
Does it fit the Ultra Bee? (Real fitment)
Yes. Our prewired kits are built for the Sur-Ron platform — Light Bee, Light Bee X and Ultra Bee — and ship with the correct Sur-Ron connector. Select the Sur-Ron/Ultra Bee option at checkout. Note the Ultra Bee's front end and cockpit differ from the Light Bee, so if you run aftermarket bars, a custom plate or a non-standard front fender, email support@elektrischesracing.com first and we'll confirm the correct bracket. We only publish fitment we can verify.
