Whys it orange?

The color orange is mandated for high-voltage cables in electric and hybrid vehicles according to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 305, which is regulated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a part of the Department of Transportation (DOT). This standard requires manufacturers of electric and hybrid vehicles to utilize orange-colored outer coverings for cables that are associated with high-voltage sources located outside of protective electrical barriers. This regulatory measure ensures a consistent and recognizable color code for high-voltage components, enhancing safety for service technicians, emergency responders, and individuals who interact with these vehicles.
